Different faith communities came together on Tuesday to promote religious freedom and tolerance at an inaugural interfaith event organized by leaders of the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) and two Salvation Army volunteers.

I squint hard to see something special in rude and crude people I too easily want to dismiss as not worth the trouble. Because they are trouble. Yet, like Matt, I have found they have value, too.

I don’t ever want to be tolerated; I want to be accepted. Who doesn’t?

I propose we let the tolerance talk subside in favor of other virtues. One such virtue or practice that comes to mind to replace tolerance is to abide.
