I have always believed that weather is unpredictable. We can make our forecasts, but we never know for sure.

When we think about faith, resiliency and natural disasters, we can approach that question from a micro, mezzo or macro perspective.

In 2010 when a 7.0 earthquake devastated Haiti, I found myself glued to the TV like the rest of America watching the images come through and the death toll rise.

"Faith, Resiliency and Natural Disasters" is a very fruitful topic that can go many different ways. However, when I mention it I get replies that addressed only one aspect: Is the disaster the result of God wanting to punish those experiencing it?

One aspect of Scouting was always planning what to do in case of an emergency.  The BSA motto, Be Prepared, is the epitome of this philosophy.
