They are both writers for SpokaneFāVS and have decided to collaborate on some columns to demonstrate the ways Christians of diverse backgrounds can understand the Bible differently and still have productive conversations about it.

I take, by faith, the story of Adam and Eve as something that literally happened in the past. I understand this goes against much of what is taught in science classes today, but I believe my faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God demands this of me.

For me, after committing to living a Christian life, I decided that my final authority was the Bible.

When I say I interpret the Bible literally to others outside of what I would define as orthodox evangelicalism, I sometimes get the feeling I am being seen as if I have a third eye in the middle of my forehead.
