The 86th annual Greek Festival hosted by the congregation of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in north Spokane is going full steam ahead after being cancelled in 2020 and limited to take out in 2021, but regular attendees will notice some changes.

Sep. 1 marked Rev. Supica’s first official day of retirement. When the two originally arrived in Spokane from Sacramento, Holy Trinity was not the same place it is today.

The 84th Annual Greek Festival is happening Sept. 26, 27 and 28 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, featuring Greek food, coffee and company.

Today, Greek Fest is much the same, with volunteers who are typically retirees, college students, or others who have the time and desire to see the festival continue. It is an ongoing challenge to find enough volunteers to cook and bake.

Pastries will be available each day of the event starting at 11 a.m. and dinner will be served from 4:30 to 8 p.m.
