Children are usually the primary complainers about Sunday school, but when Mudita Bahadur started looking for excuses not to take her children to the Hindu temple on Sunday, she knew she had to make a change.
"One, it's dogmatic and two, it's inconvenient," she said of the Hindu classes held a 45-minute drive away from her home in Santa Monica, Calif.

The Latter-day Sentinel featured two stand-out high school students this week.

Zander White and Mark Crossen are part of the varsity Knowledge Bowl team at Central Valley High School and helped bring home the 4A Washington state championships in March. The title was the first of its kind in school history.

Nobel Laureate Desmond Tutu told Gonzaga University graduates recently to, “Dream, dream God’s dream, dream as you are, incredibly idealistic creatures. You do believe, don’t you, that this is a world that can become a world where war is no more?”

At the sound of the bell, 16 first and second-graders bounce through the doors of Broadway Elementary School and line up behind the men donning neon yellow and orange vests. They walk behind them, 2-by-2, the .3 miles to Spokane Valley Community of Christ.
