If we could change ourselves

It is one thing to notice, comment and have opinions around what is going on in our home, community, country and the world. It is another to take action. I have personally taken many tracks including demonstrating, burying my head, complaining, and manipulation; none of which have had any lasting effect on the situation(s) of concern.

BRIEF: Meditation marathon to be held next month in Spokane

A meditation marathon will begin at 8 a..m., Sept. 21 at the Spokane Buddhist Temple, and continue through 10:30 a.m., Sept. 22.

The marathon falls on the Fall Equinox, which is also the International Day of Peace.

BRIEF: Oban Festival to honor ancestors coming to Spokane

For the first time in at least 25 years the Buddhist Temple of Spokane will be putting on an Oban Festival later this month.

The festival is a Japanese Buddhist custom designed to honor the spirits of one's ancestors.
