I am a firm believer that the best way to build community is to be tenaciously committed to humanizing dialogues.

And then, at that August Coffee Talk I was reminded again that silence is cooperation with the very things I feared and even hated.

No one has to ‘change’ their position and no one has to try and ‘change’ the another person’s position. We have ALL been and hopefully always will be different and it is displayed in every aspect of our individual lives, not just our writing.

it seems to me that there are two differing attitudes about what purpose our writing about our values serves.

The FāVS leadership team talk about improving dialogue a lot — obsessively, even — and we're especially concerned about helping people from less-represented background join the conversation here.

The question of what we need in order to dialogue across differences raises more questions: Are we different?
