Spokane community honors those killed in Sikh temple shooting

On Wednesday evening nearly 300 people crowded into the Sikh Temple of Spokane to mourn those killed while worshiping in a Sikh temple in Wisconsin over the weekend.

After lighting candles in their memory, local Sikhs and non-Sikhs sat side by side in the Spokane Valley gurdwara and sang about their concord, “the clay is the same, but the fashioner has fashioned it in various ways.”

Church invites community to form circle of prayer around Sikh temple

The Unitarian Unversalist Church of Spokane invites the community to join them in Arms of Compassion on Saturday, where they will join hands and form a circle of prayer and support around the Sikh Temple of Spokane.

"It's symbolic to  show we're holding them in our hearts and thoughts and prayers," said the Rev. Todd Eklof, noting the Sikh community needs support after the recent shooting in Wisconsin.
