I need to write something: the Light of the world. There, that’s something.

Is this a factual statement in reference to Jesus Christ?

When the story of Jesus is told in the historical context we see a man, who from the beginning to the end was on a mission. He lead, taught, guided, spoke, touched, healed and surrendered to his guiding conscience, the father within. In so doing he made payment for the E-ticket, (a Disneyland thing from times past) that is, lifes’ free ride by faith.

If the sacrificial payment, although brutally graphic and horrific leading to his death doesn’t elicit a big Yahoooo, then maybe the personification of Jesus needs to be observed from the perspective of his additional attributes.

For myself the drama of the crucifixion and resurrection doesn’t elicit a personal relationship. In fact it has been my experience that guilt and shame still seem to be a major response to spiritual celebrations, in this case “worthiness” issues. I get that and it seems to be due to not getting your E-ticket punched.

With Easter at hand this is a good time to re-visit the role of Jesus as the creator. Sunrise service is my holy ground because at each sunrise I greet the light of the world. By observation and living experience I find myself immersed in the Light, conscious or unconscious.

Is this a “nature worshipping” thing or is it just the obvious truth of the matter?

I remember reading wherein it stated, “be ye perfect as your father in heaven is perfect.” It didn’t take long for someone to remind me no one is perfect!

That really bugged me. So I decided to be perfect in my imperfection. From there I played the role of the ping pong ball between the paddles of life looking for the “Magic” phase, word, gesture, mantra, position and symbol that was going to get me at least a little closer to this Jesus thing.

Later I read an article by Dr. Rocco A. Errico, founder and president of the Noohra Foundation and Aramaic scholar. He said the word, “perfect” in Aramaic also means adult, full grown, mature and sober.

Whereas before there was no way in heck for me to be perfect, I most certainly could be adult, full grown, mature and sober.

This lead me to a mature approach in my understanding of the person of Jesus as the creator, wherein he states, “I am the Light of the world,” whether this is a spiritual, or metaphorical statement is not my point because I would rather approach the statement in a more practical and literal sense.

While the mind processes 50,000 thoughts a day the question as was often said in A.A./N.A. meeting was, who’s driving the Jesus bus?

As an adult I choose to drive my bus and keep the lights on while operating. In looking out the window of my bus I asked myself, “If the creator created the lesser and the greater light and then said, ‘I am the Light of the world’ then a sober evaluation would indicate that all which is seen, known, experienced and expressed, astrophysical, biological, or mental would be a result of the light. Right?'”

My point is that when the idea of the spirit is taken to its’ logical conclusion in the context of physical light, that a star 96 million miles away whose photons take eight minutes to reach earth as radiant energy across the entire spectrum from infa red to ulta violet, the alpha and the omega of universal essence thereby allowing life to exist is, in my opinion, beyond omnipresent, if that’s possible.

Neil deGrasse Tyson, astrophysicist, states that our molecules are traceable to the crucibles at the center of stars, the universe is in us. We are literally stardust.

When given, full grown, thought of the transformational progression of the light of the world, the biology of life and the contemplation of our relationship to it, it appears, I am a star powered, bio-electrical organism with the capacity to know that an E-ticket was purchased on my behalf for the ride of my life.

This sacrificial gift of love, truth, light and life is mine for the price of faith as a mustard seed.

You know what, with the light of the world, I can see that!

So sunrise, eggs, spring, stories of rebirth, if you can’t be perfect then you can at least be adult, full grown, mature and sober.

Enjoy the vast spectrum of the presence of the light in all its’ hues and dimensions. All of which are the natural expression of creation viewed spiritually or scientifically.

Our hearts, minds, bodies and souls blossom as naturally as the flowers of the field. The resurrection is repeated daily by way of the light of truth, the Great Comforter, given upon ascension, ever present, today as the rising of the sun.

As such a gift I offer, may peace, joy and the warming rays of the light of the world be the life you might know. I’m sure my ancient ancestors the Celts and the Druid priests would approve.
