Second Harvest is looking for volunteers for the Annual Yoke’s Season of Giving Drive, which will be Dec. 12 from 10 a.m to 7 pm. at area Yoke’s Stores.
Volunteers are asked to dress up in festive holiday attire and help promote $5 and $10 pre-packed grocery bags at area Yoke’s stores to help feed hungry families this winter, according to an announcement.
Volunteers are also needed to help hand out fliers, promote donations and assist in moving the purchased donations onto delivery trucks. Second Harvest asked volunteers to dress for the weather conditions. Kids are welcome to participate. Various times and locations still available.

Tracy Simmons is an award winning journalist specializing in religion reporting, digital entrepreneurship and social journalism. In her 15 years on the religion beat, Simmons has tucked a notepad in her pocket and found some of her favorite stories aboard cargo ships in New Jersey, on a police chase in Albuquerque, in dusty Texas church bell towers, on the streets of New York and in tent cities in Haiti.
Simmons has worked as a multimedia journalist for newspapers across New Mexico, Texas and Connecticut. Currently she serves as the executive director of SpokaneFAVS.com, a digital journalism start-up covering religion news and commentary in Spokane, Wash. She is also a Scholarly Assistant Professor at Washington State University.
The 19th annual Spokane Jewish Cultural Film Festival has arrived and will take place Jan. 28-30 in person at the Jepson Center. The festival will also take place online Jan. 28-Feb. 5.
