Blinded by Binaries: Why We Don’t See the Infinite Dignity of Two-Spirit People

There is much to learn from and praise in “Dignitas Infinita” (infinite dignity), the April 8 Vatican declaration. But its understanding of human dignity is wedded to binary opposites. This view puts the Vatican in an unholy alliance with Idaho’s legislature, which in order to wipe out the rights of transgender people has declared that there only two sexes, male and female.

The Ease of AI Making Decisions for Us Risks Losing the Skills to Do that Ourselves

By Ernesto Tinajero

My soul needs again to sing of love. In these times of greed being celebrated as loving God and loving others, in these times in which abundant life has been interpreted as a life filled with stuff like sports cars and big screen TVs, I will sing of love and the Lord. I will sing of the love I find in the eyes of my wife, the glories of my son running around the room, of the presence of Jesus in our home. We find safety in the arms of the Lord as the Lord fills us with his joy. The Holy Spirit blesses us with vitality and strength even as my wife fights a cold. Yes, God has granted the flow of our life as living water in a desert of loneliness of modern culture.

I will sing of love, despite many who hate me for being born in Mexico. I love them as Jesus calls me, and answer their desperation and fears with a call to follow the Lord of Dance. No wall can keep out the wave of Love in Christ Jesus. I sing of love to find them and crack their shell of hardness and soften their hearts as only the Holy Breath flowing from the Father and Son can. I sing of love for I love God with the strength of my red beating heart.

Love means kindness, gentleness and passion. I sing of love to those that stir hate for fame or votes. May the love of God keep them and grant them peace in their stressed hearts. May the joy of the Lord fill them so that they turn toward love and the Lord.

Amen
