Ask A Mormon: Can you be baptized after death?

Mormons believe that “God is no respecter of persons” (Acts 10:34). He loves all of his children, regardless of when or where they were born. We also believe that baptism, and the covenants we make at baptism, are stepping stones on the path to salvation and exaltation.

Ask A Mormon: Do Mormons believe they will become gods?

Latter-day Saints believe that every life — our spirits, our souls, the essence of who we are — is eternal.

Are Mormons Preppers? Why and where and for how long do they stockpile goods? Why is this, is there an eschatological reason?

Do you have a question about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? Submit it online or fill out the form below.

“So, do you file your horns down or does the hair just cover them?”

“How many moms do you have?”

“What’s with the magic underwear?”

“Why can’t you drink Coke?”

As a Mormon coming of age in the Bible Belt, I fielded all these questions and many, many more. I quickly discovered that there is a great deal of misinformation floating around out there about Latter-day Saints. (I mean, seriously, horns??) There’s also a great deal of semi-accurate information that is taken out of context, sensationalized, or portrayed in the worst possible light.

I love interfaith discussion. I love learning about what others believe and I love sharing what I believe and finding the common threads that unite us. In that spirit, I’m excited to introduce a new, ongoing SpokaneFAVS feature: “Ask a Mormon”. Just use the form below to submit your questions and I’ll address them as time permits.

Sincere questions on any topic are welcome, and I look forward to having a respectful, open dialogue that leads to greater understanding. So ask away!

(Disclaimer: Please note that I am not in any way, shape or form, an official spokesperson for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or its leaders. The views expressed in “Ask a Mormon” are my own, not necessarily representative of all 14 million Latter-day Saints, and are influenced by not only my Mormon-ness, but also my personal life experiences.)

I tried asking a question in the box over a week ago but it seemed to just disappear.

I’m glad there’s lots of enthusiasm for this feature!

This introduction went up Wednesday afternoon. I sent an answer to one question to Tracy on Friday – I’m sure she’ll get it up as soon as she can. And I’m working on the others as I can fit them around the other commitments I have over a holiday weekend before school starts.

Thanks for your patience.
