No, because the Bible says that as a born-again Christian, I am a new creation. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!,” 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Before being saved, I cussed like a Marine, because, well, I was an active duty Marine for 10 years. In those days, bullets bounced off my eyeballs and recruits cringed at my very presence; even the sound of my voice.  But I feel that as a Christian, cursing does not advance the cause of Christ, and it would ruin my personal testimony. After all, how could I profess to be a believer in Christ if every other word was an obscenity?

James 3:10 says that “Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.”
