Nicolas Poussin - The Institution of the Eucharist

BRIEF: Immaculate Heart to hold discussion on “One Body, One Spirit: Connected in God”

Coffee and Contemplation, a spiritual discussion and prayer event for people of all denominations at Immaculate Heart Retreat Center, continues this month with the Rev. Gretchen Rehberg, rector of the Nativity Episcopal Church in Lewiston, Idaho.

The Topic will be One Body, One Spirit: Connected in God (Romans 12) and will take place Sept. 17.

According to a press release, “It is common to state that the church is the Body of Christ.  St. Paul uses this imagery in his letter to the Corinthians, and reminds us that we are all the body of Christ and individually members of it. There is one body and one spirit.”  This Coffee and Contemplation will explore how the image of the church as the Body of Christ can be a powerful way of understanding our own role in the Church, as well as the grounds for unity of ministry.

Rehberg holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and taught at Bucknell University prior to entering ministry.  She served for 21 years as a volunteer EMT/firefighter, and was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church, having earned a M.Div. and D.Min.

The program runs from 9 -11 a.m.. and includes warm beverages and rolls.  Cost is $10 per session.  Advance reservations are requested.  For more information or to register contact Immaculate Heart at 509-448-1224 or online at www.ihrc.net.
