BRIEF: 3-part series to focus on peacemaking through dialogue

peacemakingdialogueBeginning in September The Franciscan Place at St. Joseph Family Center will offer three-part series focusing on the Franciscan tradition of peacemaking through dialogue.

According to an announcement, “A rich story of peacemaking that will provide the foundation for the series is the historic, 1219 visit between St. Francis and the Egyptian Muslim leader, Sultan Al-Malik Al-Mamil. In this story the meeting between St. Francis and the Sultan prepares a pathway of peacemaking through dialogue that is applicable in today’s world.”

The series will be held Thursdays from 6:30-8 p.m., Sept. 18-Oct. 2.

Each evening will include prayer, input, and discussion. The three sessions will be progressive in nature and include:

Session 1 – Peacemaking: Opening Minds and Hearts
Session 2 – Peacemaking: Meeting the Other
Session 3 – Peacemaking: Crossing a Threshold

Suggested donation for the series is $45 and fee assistance is available. For information call 483-6495. Register online.
