With the current fires in the Pacific Northwest there have people of many different faith traditions coming together knowingly and unknowingly in prayer.

It is time to stop looking to someone to solve the problem…to stop blaming “them” for creating the problem. Rather, it is time to look within ourselves to begin to find a way to create a country that is powerful through compassion instead of weapons, just in creating and sustaining programs that support all people in bringing themselves fully to life, and respected not for its “might” but for the recognition that we are all interdependent and, therefore, supports true human rights, freedom, and a “fair market” world.

As an educator, I was very conscious of not bringing my religious beliefs into the classroom or into discussions with my staff. I do not believe in imposing my beliefs on another, rather it is important to honor and respect all beings.

Certainly how we spend our money reflects our morals and how they may, or may not guide our life.

Is there righteous rightness in any side? Is there anything which makes taking the life of another right?

Walking the spiritual path has been part of the Rev. Toni Niemiec's life as long as she can remember.

We believe in God…one, indestructible, absolute, and self-existent Cause.” We believe that God is not a separate presence, but rather a creative force that moves in through and as all creation but is not absorbed by its creation.
