The Rev. Joe Niemiec Jr. began his spiritual quest in 1986 when he walked out of a Houston jail and was struck by the realization that his life was in shambles. He began his quest for ‘getting back on track’ with 12 step programs, followed by learning and practicing meditation with a local Redding, California, teacher.

When I think of a vacation my mind thinks about a week or two in some far away exotic place. Not necessarily so! When my body and/or spirit needs a break I can go somewhere close by and even familiar and find the relaxation that is needed.

We recognize Halloween as a fun celebration

If Halloween falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or Monday we will celebrate it with tailgate “trick or treating” in our parking lot following our Sunday Service. “All Hallows Eve” is certainly not a New Thought or Religious Science holiday.

I need to be able to laugh

Whenever I wonder if there is a sense of humor in the world I look at all the beauty we find and are inspired by in the natural world, and then how hard we work to change it. Think of the lowly dandelions in our yard, those beautiful puff balls of seeds that float so beautifully on a summer breeze.
