In a world where what and how people think is already under siege thanks to the algorithms of social media, we risk putting ourselves in an even more perilous position if we allow AI to reach a level of sophistication where it can make all kinds of decisions on our behalf.

Contradictions and Consistency in the Bible: Part One

I do not believe there are any significant contradictions in the Bible. I believe the entire text is “God-breathed.” (2 Timothy 3:16) God is perfectly powerful to have guided the evolution of his holy book.

By Joe Niemiec Jr.

Very simply from my tradition, we are at our heart a pantheist tradition, the only real divine judgment is the judgment we pass on ourselves. Each of us is a spiritual being having a human experience. Each of us is the Beloved in form so that the Beloved may experience consciousness at this level.

We do not believe in dualism (good and evil, heaven and hell…) but rather, an omniscient presence from which all creation emanates. All creation is an emanation of this divine idea. We as individuals judge ourselves and others, but it is the self-judgment that is closest to any divine judgment (no one would allow someone else to abuse or judge us as critically as we judge ourselves).

As Religious Scientists we believe in the Law of Cause and Effect. There are natural laws in the universe within which we live. If or when we do not live within these natural laws, there will be a consequence. These laws and consequences are in effect for all beings equally, i.e. whether it be a wealthy business person or a homeless person who is pushed from a 500 foot cliff the consequences will be exactly the same. This also applies to the possibility for any child to live a full creative life. The natural world does not delineate by sex, caste, or education — only by one’s actions — i.e. all are created equal.

Dr. Carl Jung found that shamanic ceremonies around the world were so similar to each other in distinct and remote societies that he believed there were bands of intelligence which could be tapped into by anyone with such capability. As Religious Scientists, we believe there is a universal intelligence that each person not only has a connection with, but the ability to tap into and use for the betterment of all.

When enough people come into agreement, human consciousness evolves to a new level. We are able to honor all beliefs because we know that whatever it is you believe is true for you.
