Gonzaga Prep Senior Receives Ignatian Service Award

Gonzaga Preparatory School announced the that senior Abigail Lombardo, daughter of Michael and Christina Lombardo of South Spokane, has received an Ignatian Service Award and received a letter in Community Service. In order to receive the letter, Abigail has completed more than 200 hours of community service since attending Gonzaga Prep.

Among Abigail’s accomplishments she has: volunteered for two summers at St. Anne’s Care Center; was a volunteer counselor at the St. Augustine/Sacred Heart Vacation Bible School; has volunteered for three years for Tom’s Turkey Drive; has coached cheerleading for two years at All Saints and Cataldo Catholic schools; been a three year member of Gonzaga Prep’s Food Drive committee helping the 70+ year Thanksgiving food drive; been a member of Key Club, a varsity cheerleader, and a member of WDFY (Washington Drug Free Youth); while being a member of the National Honor Society.

Neil Kempen, Gonzaga Prep’s Community Service Program coordinator, said, “Abi has made excellent use of her time and energy.  She works well with children and has a place in her heart for those who struggle.  Abi has a bright future and will do great things in her life.”
