There’s no need for snow, colored lights, a wreath or even two turtle doves to capture the holiday spirit during the warm days of July. Instead, Positive Life Radio 104.9 invites everyone to participate in a day of giving during the annual Christmas in July Food Drive.

On July 25, from noon until 6 p.m., Positive Life Radio will collect donations in North Spokane (Better Living Center Food Bank parking lot at the corner of Division and North Foothills Drive), Spokane Valley (Costco on Sprague), Post Falls (Super 1 Foods on North Idaho/Polston Avenue) and Coeur d’Alene (Super 1 Foods on Kathleen Avenue).

“Nonperishable food items are best,” says Michelle Stanfill, Promotions/PR Coordinator. “We’re also looking for toiletries—especially products for women and children.” Items will go to area food banks for distribution.

As in years past, the station will play Christmas favorites from noon to 6 p.m. and also broadcast live call-in reports from many of the drop-off points across the Inland Northwest.

“This is a great opportunity to lend a helping hand,” Stanfill says. “We encourage everyone to start collecting at businesses, churches, neighborhoods and homes.”

Last year, listeners donated 23,650 pounds of food, toiletries and miscellaneous items to help stock regional food banks.
