First, an apology— it’s been far too long since I’ve written a wrap-up and shame on me for that.

It’s hard to believe that in less than five days the political ads will be gone and new leaders will (or won’t) be in place and new legislation will (or won’t) have passed. Only one thing’s for certain — political signs will continue to litter lawns, public lots and medians for God knows how long.

On that note, here are a few election happenings coming up. On Monday at 7 p.m. Whitworth University is expected to host a Referendum 74 debate for those of you still haven’t made up your mind on the issue. The university hasn’t released full details yet. (Note the time of this debate is subject to change).

On Tuesday some churches across the nation are holding an Election Day Communion. The website lists Spring Hill Bible Church as the only Spokane church participating, but it turns out there is no Spring Hill Bible Church here. And no, they didn’t mean South Hill Bible Church. Does anyone know of any local congregations doing anything on Tuesday?

On Tuesday night Nyne Bar and Bistro will be holding a Ref. 74 party, win or lose. It starts at 7:30 p.m.

Then, on Wednesday Westminster United Church of Christ will host an interfaith Post-election Celebration Service  at 7 p.m. to honor the interfaith connections made during campaign season and, according to the Rev. Andy CastroLang, to celebrate moving forward together — no matter who wins, or what passes.
