Tracy Simmons

Whew... the election is finally over, but what does it all mean? Is God happy? Disappointed? Angry? Indifferent? And how did religion play a role in the 2012 elections, if any?

Tracy Simmons, editor and community manager of Spokane's online source for religion news, Spokane FAVS (Spokane Faith and Values), will be returning to Revolutionary Spirituality today for a post election wrap up and discussion.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in print journalism, a master’s degrees in communication and has reported on religion for about a decade, writing for newspapers across New Mexico, Texas and Connecticut. Join us for this fascinating conversation today at 3 p.m. on KYRS radio.

It can be heard in Medical Lake/Spokane on 88.1FM & 92.3FM and will be streaming live HERE or www.kyrs.org.

  1. One thing that should always be kept in mind when it comes to the awesome, eternal, all-powerful God, is that He is always ahead of the game.  In fact He is in charge of the game.  Anything that happens in this world has either been actively caused by Him or allowed by His permissive will to accomplish His ultimate purposes in this world.  If you want to know what those are He has revealed them all in His Word.  Especially Psalm 2.  To Him rulers, presidents, dictators any leader of this world is merely an ant in scope.  Obama can do absolutely nothing that God does not allow.  I was extrememly disappointed that a majority of people in this country chose to re-elect him, but God has His purposes, even if it is to judge this country, which it thoroughly deserves.  It’s only by His grace that it still stands.

  2. As an example of what I was talking about in terms of God using Obama to judge our country check the 3 short chapters of the prophet Habbukuk.  See if you can find a similarity to our current predicament.

  3. Agree with you Dennis and know our nation is spiraling down but know as it does the Kingdom of God is drawing closer.  We will indeed have one world order but it will be a Monarchy ruled by Christ and his spiritual government not by man.

  4. I agree celanith that eventually that is absolutely true, Maranatha!  But before that time the Bible teaches that satan will be allowed temporary control of many and, sadly, everyone who doesn’t know and love the Lord Jesus Christ will be deceived and forced by him to take a mark on the hand or forehead to live, even eat.  I hope everyone reading this will take seriously that it will be better to trust Christ and die for Him than to ever take this infernal mark, whatever it turns out to be.
