PHOTOS: Zags promote harmony, create human peace sign

On Sept. 21 Gonzaga University students, faculty, and staff gathered to form a human peace sign to celebrate the International Day of Peace.

The event, according to a news release, symbolized Gonzaga’s support of peace and justice around the world. The Gonzaga Student Body Association's noted the following regarding the human peace sign: “It is stated in our mission that at Gonzaga University ‘We also believe that a knowledge of traditions and cultures different from our own draws us closer to the human family of which we are a part and makes us more aware of both thepossibilities and limitations of our own heritage.’ By standing together as a Jesuit university and uniting as one, we make a statement that Gonzaga is open to cultural peace and justice and willing to stand against the harms inflicted when the world cannot co-exist.”

U.S. News & World Report released its annual college rankings this week, rating Gonzaga University as the fourth best Regional University in the West and the third best value in the West, according to a news release. BRIEF: Professor to present Constitution Day lecture tonight at Gonzaga

Blaine Garvin, professor of political science at Gonzaga University, will present a lecture at 7 p.m. in celebration of both Constitution Day and Gonzaga’s 125th Anniversary Celebration.
