While I'm not sure I would classify it as sinful

I hesitate to deem anything like an excess of food as sin. If we're talking about feeding the hungry in our nation then it is a monumental waste and negligent on our part.

When a marriage ends, the pain is palpable. It feels as though someone has died. Every first feels like a last: The first time we slept apart. The first time it hit me that we’ll never have children together. The first time we talked on the phone without saying I love you.

The contentious abortion debate in Texas took a bizarre twist on Tuesday when abortion supporters attempted to drown out anti-abortion activists with chants of "hail Satan."  But, Life News reported Thursday, a Twitter account run by actual Satanists decried the chants, calling them "diabolical."

Now to the fun.  The Discovery Institute’s John West talked on “The Darwinian Challenge to Faith, Ethics, and Culture,” in which he characterized Darwinism as a block of militant atheists out to squash all opposition to their godless materialist agenda.  Along the way West happened to show some slides of “Darwin Day” celebrations where atheist sentiments were on hand to suggest that Darwin Day was really a secularist religious holiday.

WASHINGTON (RNS) In response to five “We the People” petitions, the White House condemned the actions of the Westboro Baptist Church but said it is powerless to list the Kansas church as a hate group and remove its tax-exempt status.

The White House response on Tuesday (July 1) said the federal government does not maintain a list of hate groups, instead leaving that task to private organizations, such as the Anti-Defamation League and Southern Poverty Law Center.

I woke up yesterday to learn that 19 men died while in the line of duty, only this time the men that died were not fighting terrorists, they were firefighters fighting an out-of-control wildfire.

As a new day begins, the rest of us will be going through our routines of getting ready for work, getting the kids off to daycare or daycamp, or making plans for the 4th of July.
