Recently on the NBC show "Parenthood" they had a story line regarding faith issues and raising children. I think they did an excellent job dealing with a subject matter that is usually avoided or dealt with in an antagonistic or derogatory manner.

Here are some of the questions and situations addressed in the episode:

• What faith knowledge and experiences do we pass to our children, if each parent comes from a different faith or lack of faith background?

• How do you navigate our parents and their desire to share, impart or influence your kids?

• What 'big questions' do parents have a responsibility to address when raising children?

• If God is love, is a loving home a 'godly' home?

 

I really love Parenthood and think its one of the few shows that blends good story telling, real life matters, great acting and humor into a show that often truly moves me and makes me think. That's good entertainment in my opinion. Check it out, especially if your are in the family season of life.
